Another alternative to a large cake is the mini cake.  They can be decorated to suit all occasions including weddings, birthdays and christenings.

As with the cupcake, they allow each guest their own individual creation.  You may wish to choose a mixture of mini cakes and cupcakes to display on your cake stand.
